About The Place

'The Place' is our little spot of heaven located several miles outside a small town in the Willamette Valley in the beautiful state of Oregon. We feel blessed in that where we live is on 14 acres bordered by a small meandering river, an open meadow and literally thousands of trees and hundreds of flowers that we have planted in our efforts to improve the quality of air we all share.

We share our modest home with three donkeys, four dogs, several cats, a huge fish pond filled with beautiful koi and many of God's wild creatures....birds, racoons, and squirrels. The birds and squirrels bring us great joy with their entertaining antics.

Together, in this often chaotic world, we have managed to raise five incredible children and are now blessed with five wonderful grandchildren (God's special gifts to us), all who love to come to 'The Place' for visits.

We began making the 'ANCIENT ONES' over nine years ago. We had been enjoying the pow wow circuit crafting shields, hand carved talking and walking sticks, handbags, jewelry and more. During a pow wow someone asked if we had any dolls. Remembering Bud had sculpted and sold caricatures as a child, I suggested he try to sculpt some faces for me to "play" with. Recently I joined Bud in the scuplting of the hands and faces.

After a little encouragement and some trial and error, we began our line of the 'ANCIENT ONES'. We work as a team, as we enjoy and cherish the time we are able to spend together, giving birth to our creations.
